When your family asks something of you, you reply “yes”. That’s been something of a mantra in the McLoughney household over the years. So when the call to adventure came from Lorraine, Dom answered the call with a “yes”. Lorraine needed Dom to help build Becketts from the ground up. When pushed, Dom will admit that he was less than excited with the prospect. But now he’s happy in the best job, career and company he could imagine. Mothers know best.

Dominic enjoys being a trusted financial planner to his brilliant clients. He also oversees the business vision and leads the company culture from the front. He is chair of the Becketts Investment Committee.

What do you most like about your job?
Providing clients with peace of mind and clarity about how their finances will help shape their future is incredibly rewarding. Seeing someone realise their dreams is extremely satisfying.

What are you most proud of?
My family is and will always be my greatest achievement. I’m also immensely proud of our driven, ever-improving, ever-growing firm that always has our clients’ needs at the forefront of its thinking.

What’s the best thing you’ve ever spent your money on?
A boiling hot water tap. I never wanted it – I thought it was a waste of money. But it’s brilliant!
