Many of our Team News pieces had a familiar feel in the latter part of 2024, announcing new team members, etc…. and the start of 2025 is no different!
Indeed one of our last comments in our December newsletter outlined how, “2025 will be about maintaining our high standards and continuing to refine our Becketts Connect service, invest in our team and grow our presence across Yorkshire and beyond.”
Well that message took less than a month to come to fruition as we welcomed Katie Eccles (Certified Paraplanner) and Jade Jackson (Chartered Financial Planner) in January – and in doing so doubling the size of our Becketts Yorkshire office from two to four!
Katie joins with nearly 10 years’ worth of financial planning experience, and has been a Paraplanner for the last five years – picking up her DipPFS accreditation and paraplanning certificate in the process.
Jade has over 10 years’ experience in the financial planning sector – and we sat down with Jade about her as a branch off our Team News this month – and without wanting to tease too much – you can check out Jade’s full Q&A in this piece.
To ensure we maintain our high standards, we kicked off the year by venturing out to Manchester and held a session on reinforcing our business’ values – what we want to do for our clients, and how we achieve this – in addition to ensuring the culture we have developed over the years, going from a team of less than 10, is sustained in a team twice that size across two locations.
Some of our team are also currently giddy with excitement as we visited Challenge Point in Manchester for some further team building later that day… and due to their outstanding performance, one of our teams now finds themselves being invited back to compete for the venue’s quarterly cash prizes! Quite the upswing!
For Becketts Connect, we are very excited that it has been nominated as a finalist in its own right at the upcoming Red Rose Awards, hosted by Lancashire Business View. Mark and Diana from the Connect team presented the business to a judging panel at Burnley FC’s Turf Moor stadium last week, with the awards being handed out at the Blackpool Winter Gardens later on in March. Watch this space!
Becketts is also a finalist for a 5th consecutive year at the Professional Adviser Awards for Adviser Firm of the Year – North West. We have won this award in three of the last four years – and this occasion would make it a hat-trick. Winning the category would also place us in with the chance of attaining the national title, which we last won in 2023. So we’re very excited one again for this one!
Finally, as much as we appreciate the “Mag7” at times, we don’t appreciate recently losing some of our Google reviews! So we can only ask if anyone is ever moved to write us a Google review, now would be a wonderful time to replace ones that were unceremoniously removed! We hugely appreciate anyone who takes the time to write one.
