In July 2024, Becketts opened a new office at Empire House in Slaithwaite.
This move welcomed Andrew Young to Becketts, our first dedicated adviser for Yorkshire. Now, in January 2025, we welcome our second adviser to Becketts Yorkshire – Jade Jackson. A Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.
Tell us a little about your professional background and what bring you to Becketts…
I’ve worked in financial planning for several years, and throughout that time, my focus has always been on helping clients feel confident and in control of their finances. I first met with Dominic in 2021 to discuss potentially working together, and now, a few years later, I’m thrilled to be part of the team, helping to build something special in Saddleworth and the surrounding area.
What part do you play at Becketts?
I look after clients, helping them achieve financial security and peace of mind. My job is to ensure that clients make the most of their wealth, whilst we take care of everything in the background to facilitate them achieving their lifestyle goals.
I am also leading the team in the Becketts Yorkshire office to establish and grow our presence in both Saddleworth and Slaithwaite.
What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about my job is the opportunity to change clients’ lives for the better. Financial planning isn’t just about numbers—it’s about giving people confidence in their future. Every client has unique goals, concerns, and aspirations, and being able to guide them toward financial security and peace of mind is incredibly rewarding.
Whether it’s helping a business owner create a tax-efficient exit strategy, supporting a family in planning for generational wealth, or ensuring someone can retire comfortably without financial stress, the impact of sound financial planning is profound. It’s not just about managing wealth—it’s about enabling people to live the life they envision with confidence and clarity.
The best moments in my role come when clients tell me they feel relieved, empowered, or excited about what’s ahead. Knowing that our work helps people take control of their financial future, make informed decisions, and ultimately enjoy their wealth with purpose is what makes this job so fulfilling.
What are you most proud of in your career to date?
Earning my Fellowship of the Personal Finance Society while working a full-time job. It took a lot of dedication, but it’s one of my greatest achievements.
What’s your biggest money weakness?
Gadgets! I always think they’ll make life easier, but more often than not, they’re just the latest fad.
What’s the best thing you’ve ever spent your money on?
Holidays—because experiences and memories are worth every penny.
Who would be at your dream dinner party?
Queen Elizabeth II, David Attenborough, and Justin Rose.
Tell us something we wouldn’t know about you.
I once won “Best Hat” at Royal Ascot Ladies’ Day—for a hat made entirely of marshmallows!
Finally, what do you enjoy outside of work?
I love golf, sunshine, skiing, pasta, and (of course) chocolate!
