Team News – February

Welcome to our first newsletter of 2023.

This time three years ago… this time a year ago…

A lot of things have changed.

Hopefully with winter nights almost behind us, the ‘new beginnings’ and optimism that Spring offers is in the air and we can look to the things we can assert a positive influence on throughout 2023.

Things we can influence (to some extent) is defending our Adviser Firm of the Year and Next Generation Firm of the Year crowns, as well as further cementing our place as one of the leading small financial planning firms in the UK.

We have made a decent start in that regard, by being shortlisted as a finalist at the Red Rose Awards for Professional Services Firm of the Year. With these being multi-industry awards, there is more competition to fend off, however even being shortlisted for the 9th March event shows that we must be doing something right when compared to fellow professional Lancastrians.

Also, by the end of 2023 we could (should) have our advising team all qualified to at least a Chartered level. James and Dom have been there for a good while – now Ben and Mark are very much on the home straight of taking their technical excellence to this next level.

Technology will continue to influence our capacity to serve clients to the best of our ability – so please do look out for advances here, such as rolling out Calendly invites for client reviews to reduce games of email tennis when making arrangements. We’re confident this will reduce texts, emails, general typing and the phone notification bell.

On a community front, last month we visited our local Community Grocery store in Blackpool (Bispham Road). They are running a fantastic initiative to support those most in need and we are glad that we have been also support them with a donation that has allowed for a porch canopy to be put up, improving their ability to manage deliveries and protect stock more effectively. While such operations are bittersweet – that they even need to exist – we will certainly support them.

Dominic also celebrated his 40th birthday at the end of January! We’re quite proud that we managed to pull off a surprise birthday lunch for him in the office – cleverly disguised as “team training”!

As ever, we are continually grateful for anyone who wishes to leave us a Google review – please do. They are hugely appreciated by all the team here. Our target is 100 Google reviews, please help us get there!

If you don’t have a Google address, your feedback about how we do business with you is still welcome via the usual channels.
