There’s something about this time of year that brings with it a sense of renewal. At Becketts, Spring has arrived with a series of moments worth sharing – a record-breaker, a welcome return, a new space, a new tradition, and a couple of milestone milestones from colleagues on the property ladder.
A Becketts first
As established as we are, there’s always room for another “first” — and this one is a good one.
Katie Eccles, our Pennine Paraplanner, passed a Chartered-level exam last week. Impressive enough on its own — but what makes it truly special is that she did it while on maternity leave. That’s a Becketts first, and a remarkable achievement. Congratulations, Katie. We couldn’t be more proud.
Welcome back, Jade
Also back in the Pennines, we’re delighted to welcome Jade Jackson back from maternity leave. Jade’s already itching to reconnect with her clients – and if you’re one of them, expect to hear from her soon. She’s missed you.
Whit Friday – a long-standing tradition, and a new one for us
We’re looking ahead to Spring with particular excitement this year, as Becketts is sponsoring a couple of local villages’ efforts at the Whit Friday brass band contests in Saddleworth.
For the uninitiated: Whit Friday is one of the most beloved local traditions in the north of England — a touring brass band competition that has been taking place in the area since 1884. (Stalybridge, for the record, has been at it since 1870.)
We’ve only been part of the Pennine community for less than two years, but we’re already proud to be part of something that runs so deep. It’s a great chance for our Fylde coast team to experience what makes this part of the world so special. We can’t wait.
A new space at Beckett House
Back on home turf in Poulton-le-Fylde, we’ve opened up a brand new ground floor space at Beckett House.
It’s already being put to good use – client meetings, video calls, and, yes, a three-hole putting green in the corner. (We’ll say no more about the scoring.)
If you’ve ever found the stairs up to the top floor a consideration – whether for health reasons, mobility, or simply preference – please just let us know ahead of your next visit and we’ll make sure you’re set up downstairs. We’d love to welcome you into the new space.
First-time buyers in the team
On a personal note, two of our team have recently taken the plunge onto the property ladder – congratulations to Ben Evinson and Becca Bennett on their first homes. It’s a big step, and a reminder of just how many professionals are involved in making it happen: estate agents, mortgage brokers, banks, lenders, solicitors – the list goes on.
