A strong start to the year at Becketts

A strong start to the year at Becketts

It’s been a busy and rewarding month at Becketts. A mix of recognition, investment in the future, and a look ahead to the new tax year.

Recognised again for what we do best

We’re proud to share that we’ve been named Advice Firm of the Year – North-West at the Professional Adviser Awards. That makes it four years in a row – and five out of the last six.

Awards matter, but consistency matters more. This recognition reflects the standards we set ourselves every day. Clear advice. Strong relationships. Financial planning that stands up over time.

It also reflects something we’ve always believed: good outcomes for clients come from doing the basics well, again and again.

As a family-run firm built on long-term relationships and trust, that consistency is at the heart of everything we do.

Investing in the next generation

We’ve always taken a long-term view – not just for our clients, but for our profession.

That’s why we’re pleased to welcome Sejal Bagwe to Becketts. Sejal joins us from Lancaster University as a Data Scientist, bringing fresh thinking and technical expertise into the business.

Her focus is simple but important: get under the bonnet of our data. Clean it. Challenge it. Strengthen it.

We’re sitting on more than 20 years of client and business data. Done right, that’s a powerful asset. It helps us spot trends, improve processes, and ultimately deliver a better experience for clients.

This is also part of a wider push. We’re actively exploring how technology – including AI – can support better planning, better communication, and better outcomes. Not for the sake of it, but where it genuinely adds value.

Always improving

Progress doesn’t happen by standing still. At Becketts, we’re always looking for ways to refine what we do.

That might be improving internal systems. It might be bringing in new expertise. Or it might be testing new tools that help us work smarter.

The goal is always the same: make sure the service our clients receive today is better than it was yesterday.

Looking ahead to the new tax year

As we head into the Easter break, we’re also preparing for the start of a new tax year.

For many, this is a natural point to take stock. Are your plans still on track? Are you making full use of allowances? Are there opportunities you haven’t yet explored?

A short conversation now can make a meaningful difference over the years ahead.
