Team News – October 2023

It has been another exciting time to be in and around Beckett House these past few weeks.

As many may have read on our social media platforms – there have been two big achievements for Becketts recently…

Firstly, we were thrilled to come home with Professional Services Business of the Year at the Lancashire BIBA Awards last month. Being multi-category finalists at multi-industry awards, and to come out as winners in one – especially in a category that really pits our professionalism against other services of a similar nature, is a great feeling!

Moving up to a national scale… Dominic was shortlisted as a three-person finalist for “Chartered Financial Planner of the Year” at the annual Personal Finance Society awards in London last week (Claudia Winkleman hosted – so you know it’s a big deal!). Unfortunately, Dom didn’t take home the winner’s trophy on the day, but to be regarded as one of the top three financial planners in the country – officially – is some going!

Somewhere in between all the above goings on, we were double category finalists at the Money Marketing Awards in London. However we didn’t come away with anything this year.

This means that we’re back down to being regarded as “Advice Firm of the Year” by only one national publication…!

Overall, we are thrilled that the level of service and advice we provide is regarded as such by industry peers and judges. It reinforces that we are consistently achieving a benchmark that is good enough to be considered industry (and multi-industry) leading.

That said, the first stakeholders we need to impress are our clients. As such, a continued thank you to anyone who leaves us a Google review.

In a world where AI and algorithms are increasingly shaping the future of business, the value of a personal recommendation based on trust and a heartfelt endorsement cannot be underestimated for those seeking clarity and confidence about their own financial future.

The gift of a recommendation to a family member or friend this Christmas may just be the most valuable they receive!

If you need any help striking up a useful money conversation, Talk Money Week is soon upon us and we have put together five useful conversations to have about your finances with your family and friends.

Wishing you a bright and colourful Autumn & a calm run up to Christmas!
