For those of you who follow us on social media, you will have seen that we welcomed two new joiners to Becketts at the start of July – Andrew Young and Adam Heyes.
Andrew is a Chartered Financial Planner and is the first official hire at our new “Becketts Yorkshire” office in Slaithwaite near Huddersfield. Andrew previously worked in Saddleworth, so we know his diplomacy skills must be of the highest order working with clients on both sides so close to the Lancashire/Yorkshire border!
Adam joins Becketts as a Client Services Assistant straight from Lancaster University, having studied for a BSc in Accounting and Finance. Adam will be working under Dominic’s supervision and learning the ropes of all things financial planning and investment markets.
In honour of the opening of the Becketts Yorkshire office, last month we nearly made it out of Lancashire to celebrate it – opting for a walk around the beautiful Dovestone Reservoir near Saddleworth Moor – so we did still get a Pennine experience! Somehow, given the summer we’ve had, it was a glorious day!
Luckily, many of the team have also successfully found the Sun across Europe this summer! Encompassing Greek beaches, Alpine cycling, Italian culture and French camping.
Like many too, we were inspired by the Olympics in Paris and the performance of Team GB. Although we have to laugh as we turned into experts on equestrian or taekwondo within minutes!
Obviously, we know such misplaced confidence in such things can only lead to trouble and we’d be exposed in no time by any genuine experts or commentators.
This is why we encourage conversations with trusted professionals so much!
